New Year's Sky

We've been having very foggy weather here in Richmond the past three days with the sun only burning briefly through around 1pm each day, then quickly ducking back under the clouds. What looks like a sunset is actually about a 3pm sky on New Year's day when the sun shone perfectly round through the fog and painted a glowing stripe across the bay.

I drove to Berkeley, about five miles away, and the sun was shining in a blue sky. Microclimates. Go figure.

At least it was beautiful in its own mysterious way.

Funny but when I drove from Berkeley to Richmond on New Year's Eve, it was the exact opposite. Berkeley was covered in fog while Richmond was sunny. Well parts of Richmond at least.

It has been pretty cold up in the Great White North of Rodeo. We have been hunkered down in front of a fire. (Did not even check if it was Spare-the-Air Gov.Buearacy B.S.) Whoops, I got a little sidetracked.
Happy New Year!

Kailyn, that's the fun of microclimates, isn't it?

Chilebrown, having just experienced snowy winter in CT, I'd say we have it pretty good!

Sara, my cousin in Petaluma said it was pouring but here it was just a mist.

Nancy, thanks, all I did was point and shoot. Ma Nature did the rest.

Anna, and to you (and your Dad!)
