Our latest centerpiece, before we boxed it up and mailed it to our granddaughter in Boston.It's a sprinkler in soft plastic - the water jets out of the center of the flowers. Perfect for a two year old to enjoy on those hot summer days back East. Wouldn't you have loved to run through one of these when you were young?
Not a bad centerpiece, either, if whimsy is the theme.

It's forbidden now, sprinklers, water restrictions you see.
Let's see, I have a good sized electronic keyboard laying on top of some mail. Sitting next to that is a small set of books from about 300+ years ago, some of which teach you how to cook. OH, and some trivets that I grabbed from my parents belongings when I moved out at the ripe age of 17. Oh, and a copy of Laurel's Kitchen, there's another one but I can't remember the title. There was an empty pizza box on there a few hours ago, but I cleaned that up.

ReplyDeleteCenterpiece -- We grabbed two bushy faux hydrangea monster blossom heads (pink and green) from Michael's, as soon as spring reared its pretty head. We desperately needed gentle brightness. That was a few months ago.
Now I guess we should just pile the red tomatoes in a bowl. That'd be pretty.
Morgan, we have water restrictions, too, but not as severe as that. And this was going to Boston, anyway, a part of the country that rarely (if ever) has droughts.

Cookiecrumb, yes to the red tomatoes in a bowl. I often just use whatever fruit I have on hand as a sort of "still life." Whatever works.
